Mark Irumba - Chief Executive Director
Mark joined StayAway in November 2011. His background is in the
non-profit sector where he focused on social inclusion,
engaging new audiences and volunteering; as well as fundraising,
campaigning and strategic development. Mark is responsible for the
overall strategic direction of StayAway, and ensuring that we
deliver our mission to promote the value of volunteering and increase
the range and quality of volunteering in Africa.
He works to secure diverse funding, implement good governance practices and ensure that StayAway is an effective and efficient organisation. Mark also works with the public sector to emphasise the importance of volunteering in delivering the government’s strategic priorities, develops partnerships and explores new opportunities for growth and innovation in order to maximise our impact. |
Gary has worked with StayAway since 2015 and took over as the Deputy Director in July 2015. Originally from Israel moved to Johannesburg, South Africa with his parents and brothers in the early 90s. Gary is a graduate of from the University of Amsterdam and enjoys traveling the world for good causes to join.
